Day 18--

Learning Target ImageWhat will I be able to do when I've finished this lesson? What idea, topic, or subject is important for me to learn and understand so that I can do this? What will I do to show that I can do this? How well will I have to do this?
I will be able to describe some of the goals and challenges of the European leaders during the Age of Absolutism.
I need to focus on how leaders during this time period used their power to try to get what they wanted, and on what obstacles stood in their way.
I will read a summary of the textbook readings so far and answer key questions about them.    This is a formative assessment. I need to complete it carefully to add to the material I will need later.

Key Question: How did European leaders during the Age of Absolutism follow their own interests while facing resistance from others, both from inside their countries and from outside?

Today we'll continue yesterday's in-class assignment.

Next, you'll be working today with the same information as you read about in the last two homework assignments, but in a summarized form. As you read, you'll be answering specific questions about the reading, and completing a few simple charts to collect and compare information. You may work by yourself, or with ONE partner.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Open a file called Ch 7.1 Guided Reading Questions. This is a view-only copy, so make a copy for yourself that you will be able to type in.
  2. Once you've made your copy, open the file linked in the directions. This is where you'll find the readings that will provide the answers you need.
  3. Now, working alone or with a partner, read each section and complete the questions that accompany each section as you go.
  4. When finished, share your assignment in the daily work dropbox
