Day 57--

Learning Target ImageWhat will I be able to do when I've finished this lesson? How will I  accomplish this task?  How will I show that I have done this? How well will I have to do this?
I will be able to understand the way the social classes in France at the beginning of the French Revolution led to the early events of the Revolution.I will watch review last night's assignment and watch a video and to learn about the different groups.  I will add to my homework assignment / notes from yesterday to collect information. This is a formative assessment and will help me with my summative assessments in this assessment cycle.

Today we'll start with a
QUIZ over your homework from the last two nights. Use your copy of the assignment (no books, no help from others) to answer the questions as well as you can. After taking the quiz, check your email to see how you did. (Yes, retakes are possible, starting tomorrow, if you like)

While others are finishing the quiz, take a few minutes to review pages 348 and 349. As you look at the examples and read the information there, answer the following questions (add your answers to your homework assignment).
    1) What were "sumptuary laws" and why were they "needed" in the time before the Revolution?
    2) As the revolution progressed, why did more and more people dress like members of the 3rd Estate?

When everyone's done with the quiz we'll take few minutes to discuss what you've learned.

Next, we'll be watching the video we didn't get to yesterday, and seeing how the Revolution began.
Add notes and details to your assignment as you watch the video. If you need to watch the video on your own, use the login name Columbia Student and the password bruins to access it.

HOMEWORK: Complete parts 1 & 2 of the next section of the text: Radical Revolution and Reaction
