Focus on the People of Renaissance Society
Open a template from Google Docs called "Renaissance People"
Organize the groups of people listed there into the social order that existed at the time of the Renaissance. Which person/group of people were at the top of society? Who came next, and so on, all the way to the end.
Move the names of people and groups of people into the order that you think is right.

When you're done, share the document (one per group is fine) with Mr. Knowles, then check your work.
Turn to page 166 and review the information about Renaissance Society (pages 166-169) and make corrections as needed.

Add notes to it as needed, and move groups up or down as necessary to end up with a complete and correct list.

Start tonight's homework
Read pages 171-174; Answer the questions below as you read.
  1.  How did the use of the vernacular help writers like Dante, Chaucer and de Pizan spread their ideas to a wider audience? (171-172)
  2. How did humanist ideas shape the opportunities available to both men and women in renaissance education? (173)
  3.  What changes did Italian Renaissance artists bring to painting? (173)
Don't forget to add humanism, vernacular, fresco, and any other words you need to know to your personal dictionary.
