Review:
Yesterday you were asked to think about the question:
Do you think Martin Luther was just trying to stop the church's practices that he disagreed with, or do you think he was trying to break away from the church to create his own religion?
Whatever your answer might have been, it is true that his ideas did help people break away from the church and establish a number of new religions.

Last night's homework introduced you to how the religion changed across Europe, especially in Switzerland and in England.

In Class Activity:To begin class, open your homework assignment and add to it. Turn to the map on page 183 and answer the 2 questions there.

Afterward, turn in your assignment (hand in or share it) then turn to your slideshow. You should now be able to add information to your slides on Zwingli, Calvin, and Henry VIII.

HOMEWORK:
Tonight's assignment is to read the last 2 pages of The Spread of Protestantism, pages 187-188. While you read, look for answers to the following questions:
1) What impact did the Protestant Reformation have on women and the family?
2) What steps did the Jesuits take to help re-build the influence of the Catholic Church?
3) What aspects of traditional Catholic teachings did the Church refuse to change in response to Protestant challenges?
