Today we take a look at how the Age of Exploration should have made Spain a long-lasting world power....

But didn't.

Don't worry if you can't see the slideshow below. We'll be going through it together.

The Decline of Spain

Now that you have an idea of what happened to Spain, it's time to find out why.

  1. With your assigned group, open the appropriate slideshow from the Google Docs Templates.
  2. Working with your group, read through and discuss the material there.
  3. Make a list of the mistakes that Spanish appeared to make.
  4. When finished, generate a list of what countries today can learn from Spain's problems.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT WHAT TO DO

REMEMBER: To do your best on summative assessments, you'll need to use not only the information that we've discussed in class, but also include information from outside of classroom activities, either from information you already know, or from additional research you complete. Conduct your own research if necessary, or visit the Extension link below for ideas.
