Opening Activities:
BEFORE YOU BEGIN today's activities, please fill out this very brief survey about your Chromebook.

After taking the survey, get out your homework and take this QUIZ over last night's homework assignment. You may use your assignment while you take the quiz, but do not use your textbook or help from another student. 

When you finish your quiz and are waiting for others to catch up, open your Personal Dictionary and add the following words to it:

Take some time to add details in your Personal Dictionary to help you understand these words until the rest of the class has caught up and is ready to move on. Remember to look for definitions that fit the context of the time period we're studying by looking at the pages listed.

Today we'll look at another area of the world that, in many ways, was more suited to carry out the overseas explorations at a much earlier time: Why didn't China discover the New World?
