Day 71--

Learning Target ImageWhat will I be able to do when I've finished this lesson? How will I  accomplish this task?  How will I show that I have done this? How well will I have to do this?
I will be able to understand basic facts about the start of the Industrial Revolution.I will use the textbook and watch a video to understand the changes created in people's lives by the Industrial Revolution.  I will add to my completed assignment from Tuesday with additional information. This is a formative assessment. It will help me understand material that I'll use in my later summative assessments.

NOTE: If you're planning to retake the last test, be sure to fully correct your first test, complete any assignments from the unit -- and bring them with you -- and come to the classroom at lunch to retake it.

For the past few days, we've been looking at something called the INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION, something that emerged first in Great Britain, and then spread to other areas in Europe and into North America.
Today, we'll find out that the industrialization of the textile industry, the growth of urban factories, and changes in where and how people lived was just the beginning.

Today in class you'll have time to get started learning about the next phase of this change in people's lives:
The SECOND INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.
Open a read-only copy of your next textbook assignment, then Make a Copy that you can type in --or get a printed handout -- and spend the class period reading and collecting information that you'll need next week.

As you read, think about this question:

How did industrialization affect the economies of European countries and the United States?
Have the whole assignment done when you get here on Monday.

HOMEWORK: Finish any of the assignment that you didn't finish in class.
