Today you have your OPEN-NOTE MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST.

FOLLOW IN CLASS INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING IT.

After you've turned in your test, get ready for tomorrow's in-class written assessment by completing these activities from yesterday's assignment page if you haven't done them yet:

4) Transitions to know:
Before our last assessment we focused on transitions that showed CHRONOLOGY (first, next, at the same time, meanwhile) and CAUSALITY (since, because, as a result of...) because those were the focus of your writing. For this assessment, you'll likely want to use a different kind of transition, including those like:
likewise             also            while                in the same way            like            as          similarly         rather
however            still             nevertheless      on the other hand         on the contrary         even so         notwithstanding
in contrast        alternatively  at the same time   though this may be    otherwise                 instead         nonetheless
conversely         but             yet                     and yet                    still         or             though         but another
As you prepare for Thursday's written assessment, be prepared to make use of words like these to make your meaning clear.

5) Thursday's written assessment:
You don't have the question for Thursday's assessment, but you can probably INFER from the kind of work we've been doing and what we've been focusing on what the question will probably be. Take a few minutes to reflect on what we've done today and see if you can DETERMINE what the question will probably ask you to do.  Complete a brief EXIT SLIP activity to make your prediction.
