Day 78--

Learning Target ImageWhat will I be able to do when I've finished this lesson? How will I  accomplish this task?  How will I show that I have done this? How well will I have to do this?
I will be able to explain the impact of media on how people vote and view politics. I will work with other students and the textbook to review key ideas about the importance of media communications in the political process.  I will complete a worksheet that deals with issues of media and polls in American lifeThis is a formative assessment; it won't have a direct impact on my course grade, but it will help prepare me for the summative assessment on this unit.

Yesterday you should have turned in the last 2 HOMEWORK assignments for the course:
  • assignment 10, Elections (7.2)due Monday, and
  • assignment 12, The Formation of Public Opinion (8.1), due yesterday
Turn them in today, if you haven't already done so.

You also should have turned in yesterday's in class assignment on the role of money in the election process.

Today we'll complete our look at the way people form opinions about elections (and lots of other things, too), using the textbook and a website that shows media usage.
Open a shared document called "Public Opinion", then make a copy that you can type in. Use the textbook and the linked websites to answer the questions there, then hand it in to the DropBox when done.

Homework:
Any missing assignments from the unit.
Your essay, due on TOMORROW
Organizing all notes, assignments, etc., to prepare for your course final on Tuesday, June 4. NOTE: Since we didn't have a test on this unit, about 1/2 of the final will focus on key ideas from this unit. The rest will be major ideas from the rest of the course.
