Day 46--

Learning Target ImageWhat will I be able to do when I've finished this lesson? How will I  accomplish this task?  How will I show that I have done this? How well will I have to do this?
I will be able to understand how the major parties nominate candidates for president every 4 years.I will take notes from a PowerPoint presentation, and work in a small group, to understand how different states approach this task. I will use my notes when finished to write a brief summary of the process. This is a formative assessment. My work will directly help me later as I complete my summative assessment for this assessment cycle.

Two days ago you took an ungraded Quiz on the presidency. Now, using your notes from the last 2 days, you have a chance to retake it. And this time it counts. Use your notes from the PowerPoint presentation of the last 2 days to help you.

As you finish, pick up a timeline handout that shows the course of events leading up to a presidential nominations. If you'd like to try your search skills, try to find out the dates and locations requested on the timeline for the different events shown. (Every four years, things change, so use 2012 as your reference point)

When everyone's done with the quiz, we'll be discussing last night's assignment, and adding information to your assignment / notes, using a PowerPoint presentation on the nominating process. Take notes as we go through to help you understand the process.

As we reach various points in the presentation, you'll be asked to investigate a few different things. Use the links below to help you.
