Get out your assignment from last night. If you have questions, let's talk about them.

Today, we continue what we started yesterday: Looking at the meaning of the preamble to the Constitution: 
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

And seeing if our public policies today are really connected to those 6 purposes. We'll take a look at some modern events to decide if the Preamble accurately describes the role of Government today. 

Can you find more examples of your own? Use a news site (such as those below) to find your own example of a government action (aka public policy) that demonstrates the government is fulfilling one of the 6 purposes from the Preamble. Be ready to share what you find in a small group and to share the link of the story with Mr. Knowles.
