Welcome to American Government.

To begin, you'll be providing some information about yourself to help me work with you throughout the semester.

Then, we'll talk about government, specifically, why it exists.

We'll look at the Preamble to the Constitution to see if we can find some clues about why the founding fathers thought we should have government, then come up with some ideas of our own.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
